Applications wanted for grants to help homeless people develop skills

W Lucy & Co Training Fund

OxPAT is delighted to announce that it is soliciting grant applications from homeless charities in Oxford. The purpose of the grants is to provide training opportunities for homeless and vulnerably housed people in Oxford, to help them find employment. The grants will come out of our W Lucy & Co Training Fund.

For each of the past few years OxPAT has distributed £20,000 - £30,000 to help homeless or vulnerably housed people in Oxford, mainly via ten - twelve core agency partners. We are currently inviting applications for core agency status for 2015. The closing date for applications is 1 December 2014. To apply to be an OxPAT Core Agency please fill in the attached form, which should be read in conjunction with the Grant Policy.

A good story in the Oxford Mail of 31/12/2013 about Oxfordshire County Council planned cutbacks in the housing support budget. Three of the charities we support are quoted.

Appleton Community Choir Carol Concert at Oxford Railway Station

Members of Appleton Community Choir raised £433 by singing carols at Oxford Railway Station on 17'th December 2012. OxAT would like to thank the choir, the Railway Station, the members of the public who donated, and WH Smiths at the Station who contributed over £170 from their charity box. St Barnabas Primary School raises money for OxPAT

Children from St Barnabas Primary School sang carols at the Clarendon Centre, Oxford, on Monday 10'th December and collected money from shoppers. OxPAT would like to thank the children, staff and parents of the school, the Clarendon Centre itself, and of course all who generously gave money to help homeless people.
